<p>I'm a Gallatin ED'er and I've been looking into Goddard Hall's Residential College program, but I wasn't sure how it would work for a Gallatin student. I really like the Writing New York stream, but it's connected to a Writing the Essay course which I don't have to take. Do you have to be in the Writing the Essay course to be in that stream?</p>
<p>I don’t believe you have to take the class to be in the stream. However, even if you do I wouldn’t sweat it. Your actual stream is more of a formality. All Goddardites are invited to all stream events. I’m technically in All the World’s a Stage, but last semester I went to three events for Writing New York and only two for my own stream. </p>
<p>So in short, you should be able to get the stream you want, but don’t sweat it if you don’t because you’ll still be able to go to the events.</p>
