Goes against everything I stand for but.... could someone chance a brotha?

GPA: 3.5 UW (3.7 W)
ACT: 30 (33 on math and reading)
EC's:
- 4 years of HS football
- PT job
- Sports editor of school paper
- 4 years in a local award winning a capella group
- Part of a selective film program at my HS
- mini documentary I made with two other students caught some buzz and was headlined in the local paper and front of the Datebook section of the SF Chronicle

Honestly, I know my chances are limited and I have a very very slim shot but whatever. Hopefully the Chronicle article makes me stand out I guess. I sent that in to them via mail.

<a href=“Film examines Mill Valley's Old Mill School experiment”>Film examines Mill Valley's Old Mill School experiment; if anyone wants to check it out haha

Are you applying to Peabody or Film Studies?

The documentary is pretty interesting. I think the folks in Peabody or the FIlm department would think highly of it. GPA and ACT will make it a long shot though, no way around it, especially if that GPA puts you outside of the top 10%. Good luck to ya.

thank you! are you a current/future student or a parent?

Current student.

do you enjoy it? I toured Vandy about a year and a half ago during the summer so didn’t see any students on campus

I hope you don’t mind me commenting --and I personally hope you are the exception re stats and get in. But if you are going to the RD roundl, I recommend that you close this account and open another account. It is not a good idea to have identifying material about yourself on this website if you are going to be “dating” several RD colleges in March, April and perhaps on through the Waitlist rounds over the summer. Nice ACT in reading and math! Should get you a look somewhere nice even if you are not a first round pick at Vandy. You have the goods to do very well in college and all adcoms know this. Keep in mind that young adults are often adcoms and this is an open forum. Parent of Vandy grad…who if he had posted where Vandy was on his list (not even top five when he put in his apps)…and had his ID on this board…things could have gone another way entirely. Vandy was great for him. His first roomy was a serious guy from SoCal…serious about sports and school. Love seeing those brave West Coast kids giving Nashville four years of their time!

will do thanks!
