Going back to school...Help Please!

It’s time for me to submit my NYU readmission essay. Any tips on how to write and what to write? The questions are (What caused you to leave NYU? What have you been doing since you last attended NYU? What has changed now that will enable you to complete your coursework? If you plan to work during the academic semester What will impact your schedule on your ability to enroll in the courses that you need to graduate?)
Would to you recommend that I write it in an essay format or just question answer format?

Hey, I’m a first-year applicant, but from what I’ve read, you should write in an essay format but be more “straight to the point” than if you were writing a personal essay. Also, don’t make it seem like you’re making excuses, but explain your circumstances, especially if they were external.

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely keep what you advised in mind. Gonna submit it in a few days after some revisions…Wish me luck!

Consider why they’re asking: they want to ensure that whatever caused you difficulty is unlikely to be a problem from this point onward.

Absolutely answer in an essay, and don’t give any excuses. Be straightforward about what happened, and about what in your current situation leads you to believe that the problem won’t be an issue.

Good luck!

@struggling123‌ No problem! Good luck!!!

@bjkmom‌ Ok thanks so much! I’ll definitely be straightforward and honest about my issues. Thanks for the luck…I’m gonna need it!

Maybe a whole lot less than you think.

Going through hard times tends to bring on a real emotional growth spurt. You may find that you’re a whole lot better prepared for the challenges of college than you were in your “before” days.
