Going down in score is the worst feeling in the world

I've only taken a few REAL practice SAT tests. Last time I got 800 reading, 760 math and anywhere from 800-710 writing (cuz of el essay). This time I got like 720 in both reading and math! That's lower than my original score on the actual SAT... Missing like 10 questions on the entire test really messes up your score. :/ And they were all near the beginning, so basically if you miss too many there's no point in even continuing to take the test! Grrr!
Does this just happen sometimes? As of now idk which test would be the "norm," and which might have been unusually hard/easy.

Yea, it’s not uncommon for your score to drop sometimes. It’s the SAT.

Relax, you’re in great shape. From test to test, you should expect a fluctuation of at least 50 points total across all three sections. It’s completely normal. Sometimes you make a dumb error or are unsure of a vocab word but it all evens out in the end. Anyways, if you’re at the beginning of your SAT prep, you should not be taking the test for scores. You should be learning from the test itself and how the questions are formulated. Right now, the score is basically meaningless.
