I'm taking the January 28th SAT and I really want to score a 2200 or higher. I've been studying since after Christmas, but my scores haven't changed very much. They tend to fluctuate between 650-750 per section . And although I'm about equally adept at each section, the writing and math curves tend to be harsher than the CR reading one.

I don't know what else I can do. I've been doing timed BB tests, going through Kaplan and PR guides, reading CC forums, learning DH and PR's Hit Parade vocab and anything else I can think of. It's becoming really frustrating.

A lot of what I miss seem to be careless mistakes that become blatantly obvious after I review. I also tend to miss the last questions on math due to 1. lack of time and 2. oversimplification. For the CR sections, there are always 1-2 vocab ones that I miss because I don't know the words.

Is there any way to improve? Or have I hit a glass ceiling for this SAT?

For the careless mistakes, it’s just a matter of focus. When you take the real test, make sure to actually eat breakfast before you go, and try to get some sleep.

I had the same problem as you, where my scores for each section fluctuated between 650-750 for all of them. What eventually happened was I took it twice, both times resulting in 2240. I’m a senior, so I gave up after the second time. I studied really hard for the first time, but didn’t for the second. I feel like it depends on luck sometimes.

The only thing you can do is practice, but I wouldn’t focus too much time on the SAT, as I’m sure you can be far more productive learning something else or participating in a different extracurricular (instead of wasting time to up it by 50 points).
