Going from off-campus to on-campus housing?

I'm a commuter right now, and I want to live on campus in Fall 2010. Do I have to put my name down on the housing wait-list to get housing next semester? I won't have a car and I won't be able to commute next semester because I live too far, so what can I do?
I didn't know that if you were moving from off-campus that you would have to put your name on the housing waiting list. I thought that you just signed up for housing when everyone else did.
Thanks!

You’ll have a spot on campus as long as you put down the $200 deposit that you get back after you move in. The way I know this is because I had the same question as you a few months ago and I was able to get in with ease. Plus by Fall '10 I’m almost sure they’ll have the new buildings done, practically doubling the space for on campus housing. One more thing you should do is stay on top them, everything is done by email there as you probably already know.

The new buildings will not “double” space – it’s an extra 600 beds. It’ll help, but it’s not going to be that easy.

I’d contact Campus Residences and ask them your questions, because I’m pretty sure it’s difficult these days for current students to move on campus if they’re currently commuting.
