Going home to study?

Do any of you who live 1 - 3 hrs away from home go home during finals to study? Do you think you concentrate better at home or at school?

Definitely at school, but maybe because I live at home. I’ll be moving on to campus next year, but this year, I definitely felt I was more productive when I was in the school environment. That might change when I have all those distracting devices with me on campus though. Also, I go to art school so we don’t really have many finals to study for but projects to finish and hand in. When I see other people working hard in our studios, I feel more motivated to do so too

I find it’s easier to focus on studying at school. I still like to go home before finals, though. Being on campus (and in a noisy dorm) means losing a lot of sleep and not eating well… going home is good for de-stressing and being in a better state of mind to take exams.

I find it easier to focus at school. I’ve actually been staying later at the library on the days that I go to school because I’m more productive that way.

Any time I head back to my apartment I procrastinate. Big time. Any time I go home for spring break I don’t get anything done (but thankfully my spring break now is wedged in between two quarters).

Too many distractions at home.

I had to go home because my university was so terrible. There wasn’t a single seat to sit at and the library was jam packed with loud international Asians that weren’t speaking English.

Are you Alexander Wallace? Jk.

Anyways, I forgot to mention that you don’t necessarily have to go home or be at school. I sometimes study at Starbucks and get more done in a few hours than I would in a few days at home.

I got way more done at school than at home. And I second the poster who said Starbucks, or any coffee shop.

Definitely at school. Whenever I go home, all I want to do is sleep and watch TV.

how can anyone study in a coffee shop?
