I have good grades, so I auditioned everywhere as a BA (some schools I was able to go for both BA and BFA) thinking it would be a lot safer. But I've been thinking about it a lot and I REALLY wanna pursue the dance BFA. Like a lot.

I'm going to Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences as a BA Dance Major, but I want to be switched into the BFA program at Mason Gross for my sophomore year.

How difficult do you think that will be? Will I miss a lot by not starting out as a BFA?
I have a really strong work ethic and plan on auditioning for every performance I'm allowed to

78jade You might not get the answers you want on this forum. I would start by contacting Mason Gross and asking them. If you specifically asked to be considered as a BA and auditioned they might be able to review your audition results (just guessing here). But I remember at my D’s audition they did mention it could be possible to re-audition during your freshman year. As far as what you miss, I would direct that question directly to them. You might be in the same lower level technique classes as BFA. I am just speculating, but it’s worth asking them. Good luck!

@78jade I’ve heard of people getting into the BFA at Rutgers their Freshman year so, I think there’s hope! I know there’s a lot of opportunity for performing and choreographing as a BA as well. Found out this info through research, website, and from the audition
