Going into 11th grade - How am I looking so far?

Hey everyone. So, I've been reading this site for a while, and trying to figure out what my chances will be like.

Anyways, Freshmen year went terrible for me. I did extremely awful, getting anywhere from a 2.7-3.1 GPA. This year (10th), I'm expecting somewhere between a yearly of 3.5-3.7 GPA.
Of my classes this year, I took -
English 10 (Normal)
Algebra (normal math)
AP Euro
Honors Earth Science
Sports Marketing
Gym
Spanish 3 (normal)

Next year, 11th grade I will be taking
AP Lang
Normal 11th grade math (trig/algebra 2 or something)
AP American
AP Environmental or Normal Chemistry (Not sure yet)
Gym
AP Psychology
Spanish 4 (normal)

I will be trying my best junior year, hopefully getting a 3.9-4.0, and doing very well on my AP's. Basically, I'll be going all out.

Senior year, I'll also be doing very well.

I'm guessing a cumulative high school GPA of 3.6. I consider my self to be pretty intelligent so, I think I'm going to do well on the SAT's.

Anyways, having a bad freshmen year, and decent sophomore year, coupled with hopefully a very good junior year and senior year, what do you guys think I will be able to get into?

Thanks so much!

Um, well, that’s not very much information

How are your extra curriculars? Are you in any sports or clubs?

GPA is only one measuring stick… Remember you need good SAT’s and EC’s (esp. community service and/or leadership) in addition to high GPA.

What are you aiming for in terms of universities?

I’m interested in some type of Film major, and I have some clubs, film club, statistics club, latin club, etc. I’ve done winter and spring track 9th and 10th. Last summer I went to a 2 week film program at new york film academy (it said I got college credit), this summer I’m doing community service at a hospital which continues into my junior year. Hoping to get 120+ hours (probably a lot more). I’ll be trying to do some more things, but yeah.

College wise, I’m thinking “tier 2” colleges… if you know what that means. Deffinitely not ivy or anything, but maybe something like University of Miami, University of Michigan, Syracuse, maybe some liberal arts schools, not sure.

What do you guys think?

If you’re looking at going to film school, I would prepare a portfolio of work before you enter… My friend is planning to major in film and architecture and he’s been preparing a portfolio…
