Going on a year abroad

<p>I'm a student studying economics from the UK and have the chance to go and do a year abroad but I don't have a clue where to choose. </p>

<p>I can pick up to three so will choose two in California and another outside Cal. </p>

<p>I have three that I'm thinking about. They're UCLA, Berkeley and UCSD. </p>

<p>As it is only one year, I'm more inclined to pick a uni for the social aspect. I want that "proper" American college experience. Although I still do care about academics and which one would be the most respected in the UK. </p>

<p>Any info would be great thanks!</p>

<p>The 3 in CA are great picks, of course. Likely the most social are: UCLA, Berkeley then UCSD. I don’t know that much about UCSD but they do have a residential college system, so how social it gets will depend on which college you are in, maybe to a large extent. I don’t really hear that school as being particularly social.</p>
