Okay. So I'm from Denver, Colorado and I'm 99% sure I'm going to Hamilton College this fall (Clinton, NY). Everything was all fine and stuff until my mom went on an OCD rampage on me and now I'm freaking out.

That's a lot of miles away from home. I can handle it, it's just... how to get there and what to do is my thing.

Anyone have any suggestions/tips/hints for me?

I would.. but... in my whole life.. I've only gone on vacation once. And the whole situation is a bit funky... my dad can't come out with me during August.. but he wants to see the campus.. so we're going early.. and then.. they're dropping me off in Toronto, Canda to stay with my aunt.. to have them drive me (4 hour drive) to campus.

I dunno how I'm lugging everything around. Or what to lug and what stuff I would be better off if I bought it after I've settled.

im also going outta state. and im also going to new york. im coming from georgia. my moms freakin out on me too. but u gotta do what u gotta do.

I think there are a lot of other posts on this, but generally, just pack your suitcases (2 checked bags plus a carryon) full of all your clothes and the stuff you're going to need until you go back home. Then, I think places like Bed Bath and Beyond ship (or you could have your aunt drive you to some store in NY to buy this stuff too) to get towels, sheets, etc. Then you'll need toiletries (stop by Walmart on the way?) and then if you want a TV and a microwave or a fridge you can have that stuff shipped right to the college as well.

Shipping is the way to go. I fly out to campus too, and I don't like packing more than I can easily deal with.
If you are visiting campus ahead of time, call and ask what you can drop off while you are there. Then your dad can bring two carry-ons with your stuff too, and leave it in storage to pick up when your aunt takes you back to campus.
