Going over four years

<p>just speaking for Berkeley, even though there are courses with prereqs, the truth is you can actually register for them without having completed the prereqs. Berkeley's registration site, telebears doesn't check to make sure you have the prereqs completed.</p>

<p>For example, I took a Mechanical Engineering Heat Transfer class concurrently with Fluid Mechanics even though the catalog specifically states Fluid Mechanics as a needed prereq for Heat Transfer. </p>

<p>Currently I am enrolled in a senior level Materials Science course with 4 prereqs I have not taken.</p>

<p>Basically its up to the student to decide if they are adequately prepared to take the course or not. I'm not sure why other schools don't do this, because without this I wouldn't be close to graduating on time.</p>

<p>My school is really annoying with prereqs and even coreqs with engineering. Re register online and it will nto let you register of you have not taken the prereq. And, profs check if you are enrolled in the coreq classes as well!</p>
