Not to sound cocky, but I could almost definitely get into University Park with my GPA and SAT scores.

The problem is that my family isn't doing so hot financially and I could save so much money and save myself from future student loans by going to the Abington campus for two years and then completing my degree at the main campus. Basically, going to Abington for two years would be perfect (at least socially) for both my family and me.

I'm just wondering if this is a viable option.

There are a couple majors where this is not possible; be sure to read all the information on your intended college’s (College of Engineering, etc.) website. There are some students who elect to stay at a branch campus all four years. (You’re very smart to be considering this. Saddling yourself with a lot of student loans can limit your choices after you have your bachelor’s degree.)
