Hi!

I'm considering a school OOS, but I have some concerns.

Is transportation (flying) expensive?
Does it take a while to adjust to a different environment and climate?
Is it easy to move back home after graduation, and to get a job back home?
Can you get summer internships in your home state if you wanted to?
How do you stay in touch with all your OOS friends after college?

Thanks :)

Depends on the state. There’s a big difference between going from Hawaii to Vermont for college and going from Minnesota to North Dakota for school.

Depends on the school, where you’re from, and how easy it is for you to adjust.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A good number of college students end up “boomeranging” back to their parents’ home when they graduate.

Usually.

Skype or other means of communication.

OOS universities are great, but quite expensive. There are private universities that do not differentiate between OOS and in-state as far as tuition goes. If you really want to go somewhere and you have a financial plan, then do go ahead. But if not, then just stick in-state.
