Going to college

I have a 3.2/3.3 gpa going into junior. Past two years I've been lazy and didn't do sports even though I'm athletic. So I was wondering if I do real good I mean nothing less than an 85 and do sports will colleges like me and my gpa? Also during the year would volunteer hours help me?

You have to ask the question yourself.
Can you motivate yourself?
Volunteer hours would certainly help, but I suggest that you solidify your academics first.

Yes I think I could do it but if I do achieve my goal will I have options for college though?

Sure, you will demonstrate an “upward trend”, a favorable trait of a strong applicant.
If you become better and better in school, that means you will be able to handle tough undergraduate work, and you are motivating yourself.

Also standardized tests will solidify the other half of your academic packet, so work on those, as well.

well, you probably won’t get into harvard or anything, but you could certainly go to some decent schools with those grades. check out this link for ideas as to what schools are reasonable for you: [A+ Options for B Students | Top National Universities | US News Best Colleges](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/a-plus)

Ditto. You have many decent options.

You definitely have a good chance of getting into college. The Ivies, maybe not, but as long as you motivate yourself to do better academically, then your grades shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re going to play sports or volunteer (which colleges do like to see), then make sure it’s something you like, because hours spent doing something that makes you groan are rather pointless.

Remember–motivate yourself!

Alright I have one more question would it be smart to stay back a year though to improve?
