Hi, i'm admitted student to the fall and i'm both exciting and worrying.
Of cousre, i definitely worry about the workload and rigorous education from columbia university.
However, i also worried about the social life at GS.
Although i'm a nontraditional student because of my education gay years, i don't have any experience of college.
So i really want to enjoy the spirit of the US college.
I heard that the average age of GS is 29 and also heard that most students in GS do not join the club, intramural sports and do not hang out with other CC/SEAS students. Is that all true?
And although i'm not living in the dormitory, can i integrated into the freshman life and social life in CU?
I will be happy with any stories or advice from the current GS students or other students!

Yes, absolutely. In fact, GSers are in leadership positions in a lot of clubs on campus. There are great people in every school and I’m sure you’ll make friends with the right ones.

My name is Christina and I’m a current student and tour guide at GS. Many GS students participate in clubs and intramural sports, which are great ways to meet other GS, CC, and SEAS students. We also have a very active student council (GSSC). Getting involved with that would be a great way to learn more about the school and meet fellow GSers.

Don’t worry - the things you’ve heard about the School are stereotypes. GS truly is what you make of it. This is a supportive and welcoming community, for those who choose to be a part of it. Take advantage of all of the opportunities provided to you at Columbia, and you will find the experience you’re looking for.
