Going to Preview without family?

Neither of my parents are able to come with on the dates that are still available to sign up for Preview, so unless my mom closes down her business for 2 days I have to go by myself since my dad will be out of town. Is it unusual for a student to attend without family?

i’m just bringing my girlfriend…

No, it’s not unusual, a lot of people’s parents are busy.

i’m going alone as well. its not going to be that bad, i hear you don’t even see your family much anyways so it won’t be a big problem.

UF will cover things at the parent portion of preview that isn’t covered in the student portion. I know someone that went without her parents and at the parents portion they covered insurance policies and such and they would not go through it again just for her. But anyways, I don’t think it’s unusual for many students go without their parents. My Mother is going because she seems to love learning about the college process lol.

i wouldn’t go so far as to say my parents thought it was a waste of time, but they were definitely disappointed afterwards. you dont spend much time with your parents and a lot of the info isn’t actually useful. there are some useful tidbits, but if you have questions about anything you can ask outside of preview without issue.
