I think it depends on the school. It’s definitely 100% okay around here to go with a group of friends. A lot of people do. My school has a serious gender imbalance in the upper grades, so guys are a sort of shared commodity. But it might be different at your school. Just don’t go alone, whatever you do, and don’t go as a third wheel.

serious business

go single and find single guys at prom, which didn’t work for me sadly :(

Am I the only guy that would rather save money and skip prom?

Yes. I am not sold on the prom being such a great thing, but at the same time, I would regret not going even if it sucked.

you could always ask a guy yourself, if in fact you are decent looking. you’re taking a lot of pressure off him, because he now doesn’t need to ask someone, so he will probably say yes. if a decently cool girl asks me to prom, i’ll say yes before i ask anyone else.

It seems like everyone is like omg I can’t wait for prom. Then they’re like prom sucked and is overrated.

I agree with Choklit Rain

Ok, 1st off… screw anyone who thinks goin to prom single is a bad thing. Just go and have fun, I honestly didnt even ask my girlfriend to go to prom with me, I went and hung with friends.
But real talk, im positive that even “if” someone isnt the best looking person someone will ask them to dance and such. I actually on my first dance asked this girl EVERYONE in the school was always picking on to dance with me and ended up having a great time! Im sure im not the only guy out there like this, so as long as you have a great personality you’ll do fine. No worries

First of all, prom is one of those things that suck terribly, BUT you need to go with someone. It is just mandatory because when you have a talk about your childhood down the road, I wouldn’t want to say I couldn’t get a date and went alone. Second, you are honestly going to look like a loser that’s being honest not sugar coating it like Kin6 X. He is probably lying about having a girlfriend and has no choice but to go with his friends. Third if you talk to a friend that spreads it around the school chances are the guy will ask you if he hears you want to go with him.

If you end up not going to prom because you can’t get a date. Just go to after prom and get so trashed that you won’t even remember you’re at prom.

aluminum_boat - no nobody agrees with you about saving, that is just a horrible idea about missing one of the most memorable moments of your life to save what sixty dollars? get a job or make friends

seems like CC may have geniuses on here, but barely any with social lives

I agree 100% with Choklit Rain. I have to say, a lot of my reservations with prom have to do with the pressure of going with a date.

Its better to not go at all than to go single. If u go single, its just like hanging around with ur friends, which would be more fun somewhere else, so why go through all the hassle for prom?
