Going to Queens College this Fall, but I want to study Mechanical Engineering.

I've got accepted to Queens College for this fall semester but I want to study Mechanical Engineering. The sole reason as to why I chose QC is because it was my last resort. I have no other options. I was interested in the Engineering school of CCNY but 1) I don't have the required physics and chemistry classes (Long story short, I screwed up in high school) and 2) It's too far from where I live. It's a 1 1/2 commute just to get there and I don't have money to dorm. The standards for SUNY schools are harder and like I said above, I screwed up in 9th and 10th grade, bringing my overall GPA down.

What would you say my best bet is at this point? Should I take physics and chemistry classes until I can eventually transfer? I don't want to give up on Mechanical Engineering. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Follow your passion, if mechanical engineering is really what you want try, try again until you get into CCNY for mechanical engineering. It will all be worth it at the end, all the work, all the hassle that may come with transfering. Good luck!
