Going to Tufts and Majoring in IR or Econ...Shot at MC?

Like the title says, im going to Tufts University in the fall and will either major in IR with a focus in international finance or Economics. Provided I manage to get a decent GPA - 3.5 or higher, get involved in some EC's, will I have a shot at landing MC internships or a post grad full time position with a decent management consulting firms?

it'll be tough coming from tufts.

it's definitely not impossible, but i feel like you'd need a gpa of at least 3.7 or 3.8+. you're basically competing with ivy leaguers and students from top ug business programs.

i'm sure that a handful of tufts students do end up landing internships and FT offers from the top mc firms. you just really have to set yourself apart and stand out like no other.

I don't normally feel so aggressive ;) but I really have to shoot your response down The_Aspirant: Tufts has really great placement on Wall Street, in management consulting firms, etc. -- especially if you get at least one top internship in before you graduate.

You'll be fine if you network...speaking from personal experience, it's the key to success in consulting.
