Hi everyone! I was recently offered admission to UF and will be attending this fall. The only problem is I'm torn on where to live on campus. I am leaning toward Lakeside, because I have heard it is some of the nicest living on campus. However, I also heard that it is VERY far from the center of campus. I am a social person so I don't think meeting people will be a problem, but is Lakeside a good place for a freshman to live? And if not, where is? Thanks for any feedback!

I was also leaning towards Lakeside…but if you Google Map the distance between there and Plaza of Americas part of campus, it’s a 31 minute walk/7 minute bike ride. I’ve been told by current students that it takes about twenty minutes to get to classes. So, now I’m leaning towards Springs and Beaty Towers.

I’m thinking I might just live in a traditional freshman dorm, like Jennings or Broward. How are these two compared to the other double room dorms?

Same with me! I like the idea of the social aspect of the communal-style dorms, but at the same time the suites are really nice. However, I’d rather be toward the center of the campus.

Hey, i’m someone who grew up an auburn fan, but is now going to Florida next year, so now i’m a converted gator, but did have some fun times rooting for auburn for 17 years (especially the UF games in 2006 and 2007)

GO GATORS!

@Nc7777 yeah when I was watching those games I never would have thought I’d be a Gator! I’ve had my heart set on Auburn for a long time, but the oos tuition made it impossible

I would NOT recommend lakeside for a freshman, its SO far.
