You must have 60 credits before applying to the Goizueta program. That means either applying during the first or second semester of your Sophomore year and matriculation during your second semester of your Sophomore year or first semester of your Junior year.

There are additional courses (requisites) that must be taken prior to acceptance into the program. For regular admissions, that means anytime during your first two years. For early admissions, that means anytime during your first three semesters.

These courses are Decision Science (Statistics), Financial Accounting, Business Calculus, and Business Economics.

Instead of Business Calculus, Calculus I and II may be taken. Instead of Business Economics, Micro and Macro Economics may be taken.

The current acceptance rate into the program hovers around 85% I believe. Its more of a screening process then acceptance procedure. The committee wants to make sure your committed to the Business program and have successfully completed the required courses.

The committee has stated that a 3.0 GPA is, at minimum, expected. In reality, your going to want something, at minimum, higher then that. (~3.3 GPA)

You can double major between the Business School and any other program within the College. A large percentage indeed do. It will be tough.

We call majors in the Business School "area depths." Many students choose two or more area depths inc conjunction with other College majors. You choose your main "area depth" and minor "area depth."

Your first two years, you should complete a majority of your required GERs and the pre-requisites for the Business school. Your Junior year is pretty much already filled with Business classes. Senior year is electives, courses towards your Majors, and any other GERs which you have not filled. Some Business programs fulfill GERs and as such, most will not have much trouble completing all GERs.

It has been noted that one can fulfill the Business pre-requisites during their first semester at the Business School in case they had some circumstance that did not allow them to do so during their Junior and Sophomore year. I would imagine you need a good excuse; if not, you wouldn't be accepted into the Program.

Since I know your going to ask, early admission does offer some benefit to some students. It gives you one more semester at the Business School to complete courses. On the other hand, you won't be graduating early. I find very little, if any, benefit in doing so. You can take courses at the Business School even as a College student. Therefore you could take courses in Business during you Sophomore year to get a set ahead.

Since your mildly-obsessed with your GPA, take note that Goizueta courses are set on a distribution/curve.

You can view the distribution here: http://www.goizueta.emory.edu/degree/undergra_cur_grades.html

Your Junior and Senior year will look like this: http://www.goizueta.emory.edu/degree/undergra_cur_curriculum.html

Goizueta is a top program and definitely one of Emory's jewels. Don't expect it to be a walk in the park. It is not the "easy way out." I would also make sure Business is what you want. And if you do decide it is, congratulations! Goizueta is really highly ranked (currently 4th by BusinessWeek) and is a great program.
