Golden age in hip-hop

Is anyone else interested in this music? KRS-One, BDP, Mos Def etc?

I love Mos Def (although, I must admit, it has a lot to do with the way he looks)...

My father was a DJ so he introduced me to a few of the artists. I don't know many, though.

hip hop died off a lot by 2005 (emergence of guys like t-pain (not saying hes bad or nothing) etc) but theres still some good music but just not what it used to be. The clipse are tight. Check out Z-ro.

It's my favorite genre of music. I suggest listening to Deltron 3030 if you've never heard it. Also: S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. by One Be Lo.

dump the backpacker nonsense, as of this moment lil wayne is head and shoulders above everybody else in the industry (although the east will rise again, promise)

except the east coast part...

By golden age I meant late eighties/early 90's.. :P it was dead before '97 haha

The Cool Kids & Retro Kids.
Nothing beats that

i dunno theres still guys like BUN B and Young jeezy and Rosco P Coldchain. RIP Pimp C.

I hardly listen to Lil Wayne at all but one of the few songs I heard was "I Feel Like Dying" and that was a trip.

i think i'm the only person who cares about this thread but i'm going to keep posting anyway. the drought is over 5 just came out and it's a monstrosity - right [hurr.[/url]

Slick Rick pwns...

Can anyone out there justify the existence of T-Pain? I'm prepared to buy u a drank.

He's fake.....just an image for computer sounds...or so my friend says

^haha, i believe it. honestly i don't listen to any modern hip hop, it's too r&b-ish, or just too blegh. i love KRS-One and BDP. criminal minded ftw

hip hop still lives! in the underground... like jedi mind tricks and such

Yeaah... Immortal Technique, MF Doom, MC Chris, etc, etc...

yeah... except not MC chris as much. but immortal technique, tech n9ne, RA the rugged man, as good as it ever was i'd say.....

fake.....all of you....
