Golden Age Musical Theatre Soprano Ballad

Hello :-)
I have college auditions coming up in a few months.
I am looking for a Golden Age musical theatre soprano ballad that isn't too overdone. I am planning on pairing it with "My Strongest Suit" from Aida.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

One technique to find “not-overdone” songs is to look at the shows that contain the overdone songs, or more obscure shows by the same composers.

Also, in my opinion, the better the composer, the happier the faculty will feel about hearing a song even if it tends to be overdone. Cole Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein – how can you go wrong? The only exception I can think of is Gershwin’s “Summertime.” Don’t do that one.

I agree, you cannot go wrong with anything written before 1965. The overdone songs tend to be whatever is trendy in the last ten years. Best wishes.
