This seems to be the article of the day.

Not surprising that Goldman is a crappy place to work… Just look at the type of people who want to work there

The article seems to have quite an impact on GS’s stock price.

Maybe the market is more believing of Schiff than the CEO and President.

@j1cregh isn’t that basically everyone, including most engineers? Truth is, despite what anyone might say here, not many people would pass up an offer from Goldman if it was right in front of them. There are very few places that can jump start your career the way Goldman can.

^^agreed. It carries prestige. D1 worked there as an intern.

She is now

To be honest, I’m not sure if “prestige” is the right word to describe Goldman these days. Within the CC community, perhaps. Within the actual populace, maybe not.

Goldman is the most hated company in america. Why the heck would someone want to work there when you can work somewhere else for tons more money?

To be fair, I don’t think many would be able to work somewhere else for “tons of money more” than GS. I know that’s not exactly what you said, but I think that’s what you meant.
Also, with the regulatory environment in the financial services industry, I don’t think working at GS is the only path to making “tons of money more” from any reputable employer either anymore especially when you factor in cost of living.
In general, being successful is not just about the “brand name”. It takes research, commitment, and well thought out planning to be successful anywhere.

According to who? What makes it that much worse than any other financial services firm or even consulting firms for that matter?

At the same time, it seems like most BB’s (and some top boutiques) have similar pays across the board. So if someone really felt as though one BB had a better “environment” than GS, they wouldn’t be shooting their career path in the foot.

+1. That’s what I gathered.

Yup agree with # 11 and # 6 (me).

D1 is happy where she is and believes in the integrity of her firm. That is very important to her and her co-workers.

She’s into fiance and making money legally, not into ripping people off or doing anything marginally illegal.

According to most of america. U really think Americans respect Goldman?? Lol what a garbage company.
