Goldwater

I know a lot of Goldwater-type people patrol this forum, so I'm curious as to whether you guys could answer some questions for me. I need to know whether or not they count articles in the word-count for the essay. Mine is currently above the limit if articles are counted. Also, should one include a bibliography? Does anyone have an example of a winning essay they could send me?

Yes, you should count articles in your word count, but if your essay is approximately the right length, it will be fine – no one in MIT admissions is going around counting the words in everybody’s application essay.

Oh come now mollie, you know I was not referring to an application essay for MIT… [Goldwater Bulletin of Information](http://www.act.org/goldwater/yybull.html)

Ah! I am so dumb.

I thought you meant Goldwater, like the politician, and were somehow equating bean-counting in admissions essays with Republicanism. And then I was confused as to why you wanted to transfer, because I thought you were happy at ND.

Can I beg off because I had to give lab meeting today and was appropriately addled this morning?
