Byerly: They are also trying for last place trophy in the COHFE study.

run doggie run.

Over 80% of common admits chose Harvard over Princeton last year, Simba.

that's no response, byerly, to a study showing relatively high levels of harvard student dissatisfaction, once there. by the way, i note your rather arbitrary selection of 1997 as a beginning year for your championship list. in 1996, the league champion was, not surprisingly, princeton. exposed.

as for softball (since earlier you decided to discuss women's basketball when men's was at issue), princeton owns 15 ivy league championships to harvard's mere 3. it earned its 15th just last season, in case you want to raise your "stop living in the past" defense once again.

Its been a long time between bonfires at Princeton!

The Daily Princetonian's answer:

"FIRE THE COACH!!!"

And it doesn't look much better for 2005:

Perhaps this record stretch of futility has hurt Princeton with cross-admits:

Quoting the Director of Admissions in the DAILY PRINCETONIAN:

"Based on information obtained from students admitted to the University who chose not to attend, Rapelye confirmed that most of Princeton's cross-admits choose Harvard, Yale, Stanford or MIT over Old Nassau.

Losing students to Harvard is nothing new, said Chris Avery, a professor at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government who researches the college admissions process.
In a 2000 study of 3,000 highly-qualified students admitted to the nation's most selective colleges, Avery found that in head-to-head battles, schools almost invariably lost out to Harvard.
"We found [that] essentially Harvard was winning most of the competitions for students," Avery said in an interview."

Not sure how this thread de-volved into something that no longer resembles the original golf thread but it did none the less.

I'd still ike to know a bit more about the criterea that Golf Digest used to make their rankings and I would also like to know what Ivy league schools have their own golf course . . .

Eagle - Yale, Princeton and Cornell do, I think. I don't know if University of Pennsylvania has one, but Penn State does. I try not to use those two schools in the same sentence because people get mad, but there you go ;).

it's funny how byerly gets exposed, drops everything and runs, cheerleads some more, gets exposed, drops everything and runs, over and over. That's some stamina - pity the nude olympics have been banned.

yes, but more than 2/3 of them are unhappy with the quality of educational experience. Rank of 28/31.....

run doggie run.

Hey, look at me, I can make equally pointless posts!

Golf, lacrosse (thanks to "boosters") and girls softball.

And how about the Director's Cup Poll?
And it really doesn't matter what you say in response, you'll always discredit anything that says Harvard isn't number 1 and immediately worship any statistic or figure that would place your beloved alma mater above all else.
(and to imply that Princeton is only good in three sports as you have in your prior post is simply absurd)

And before I forget,
Men's Water Polo - Final Four
Women's Soccer- First Ivy League team to EVER reach the Final Four in a 64-field tournament

And I still don't quite understand what in God's name you're trying to prove...

Sounds like you're the one trying to "prove" something!

hush doggie hush.

Keeping this thread on topic is hopeless. :-(

Most of this discussion should be private messaged instead of posted.

I agree, sorry about that.

Byerly: Good point, I have no idea what I'm trying to prove (Thats why I asked, hahaha)

tops again in 2006, this time for men and women both:

"In the 'Academics First' ranking, Princeton is No. 1 for both men and women, providing the best education with an opportunity to play competitive golf."

funny how yale gets a 98 on the academic scale but Trinity texas get a 100.
