<p>im an avid golfer and i was wondering if there are any really good courses in or around blacksburg. im headed to tech this fall and would like to be able to play alot during college.</p>
<p>Well there is the on campus course that we will be able to play for 11 dollars. There is apparently a world class course very close to Tech. It is called the Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech. The web site says its 39 dollars for VT students. There is a member of the VT golf team that is doing fairly well in the Masters today, just saw him on ESPN.</p>

<p>Theres something called "The Hill" close to campus I think. That may be the Pete Dye thing. And yeah, a VT guy won the British amateur open (I think) and is at Augusta now.</p>
