I'm planning on taking the ACT in December, and was wondering if anybody had any experience with good/bad study guides?
As of now, i have the Kaplan Higher Score on the ACT software, and an old Barron's Key's to the ACT (2001).
I did a diagnostic test on the software and got:
English: 32
Math: 28
Reading: 28
Science:23 (Would've been better if i knew there was no guessing/wrong answer penalty)
I'm aiming for like a 32 first time.

I'm going to get SAT guides tomorrow, so i was going to do it at the same time.
Which books have you guys used, and how have they worked?

I used Princeton Review, worked great, and am using Real ACT's, works great.

Real ACT [red book]
princeton review
barron's (ultra hard, but helpful for me)
Kaplan (for reading - esp. on the timing)

Definitely Princeton Review and real ACT. Best combo!! I didn't need anything else.

cool.
i got one of the ACT prep books they give to the school, and i think i really only need help for science and reading.
For reading, i ran out of time and couldnt answer 5 questions-- Got a 27
Science, i got a 26
Otherwise i am pretty good, 34 math, 32 English.
So i guess PR is good and real ACT.
any suggestions for science section?
