Good and Cheap Business Schools?

I'm trying to pick out a few schools to apply to this fall (in addition to my state school) and I'm questioning whether it's worth the extra cost of private or OOS tuition. The UW Foster School, which I could attend for less than 10k, is ranked well and I've heard it is becoming stronger and more competitive. Even more, it has a direct admission program. Would it be worth it to attend Haas, Ross, Kelley, Stern or any other out of state (assuming I get in) in my case?

I'm not looking to make it on Wall Street, but nonetheless I want a school with a good reputation. So maybe my question is: could I attend any better (than UW) undergrad business school for around 10k a year?

I know the University of Indiana has an automatic scholarship which I would qualify for, making it still more expensive than Foster but its ranked higher according to Business Week. Will any employer care whether I finish one or the other? What other schools should I consider that would potentially give me enough merit aid to make it worth while? I will not qualify for need-based aid.

By the way, I'm a 3.97 student in the top 1% of his class. I will have taken 11 APs, have a 2180 SAT(800W,710M,670R) and average extracurriculars. Where should I apply and hope to get decent aid from?

You have great statistics, but most merit awards are pretty small. There are not many that exceed 15K and most do not exceed 10K. So UW or Indiana seem to be your best hope. Still, it doesn’t hurt to apply, especially to schools that do have a good record on merit aid. You can always decline or try to negotiate if they don’t offer enough.
