Another question about apartments? So, I'm now going to get my own place so I'm looking for either a studio or a 1 bedroom apartment.

To all current students/alumni who have been in the apartment complexes (whether they lived there or just visited), what apartment complex do you recommend? I want to find something that is reasonably priced and has pretty good walls (for those occasions that I want to have friends over late at night without having to worry about some old guy next door getting mad and calling security).

Well of course. But for some places they are overpriced for no reason

For example, Regents Court. I knew from the get go that this place was going to be expensive. But I figured that there have been a few rooms that have been on the market for about 3 months now and still are vacant. I went and checked them out, not only were they smaller than studios in Costa, but the rooms were also on the first floor and faced Lebon. They were asking for $1350 which was ridiculous.

Point being, its just annoying searching for a place that is actually worth the money.

Other than Crossroads and Costa and the ones that you already mentioned, do you have any other recommendations

If you just want cheap (though I particularly didn’t like these because of horrible or lack of management/service): Costa Verde (not the Towers), La Regencia, Trieste, International Gardens.

Honestly, UTC isn’t an area friendly to those looking for single apartments. It’s designed to accommodate student housing, and the best bang-for-buck deals are the 2-3BR units. I remember you said something about you wanting to find a 4BR apartment with some friends – you may want to find a way to get 2 2BR apartments between the four of you.

At $1,000/BR, you can probably snag a nice deal at Renaissance or Costa Verde Towers for 2,000/month and live in luxury apartments.

Yeah. I tried explaining that to my friends, but they really wanted to live together in one place and the entire process became more and more frustrating. Eventually we settled on I’ll find a place and then they’ll try to get a place in the same complex

Oh, and its more than just 4 people. The group of people would have been 2 doubles and 1 single if I were still with my group. Now its either 2 singles and 1 double or 2 doubles with me out of the picture
