Looking for more campuses to visit.Focusing on checking out the baptist schools right now. any input appreciated. plz no extremist/bob jones/pcc comments

Baylor is the only decent baptist school i can think of.

visited there many times in my life and recently for an official visit. father and uncle both played offensive tackle for baylor

What about Wake Forest? That's Baptist, right?

the divinity school is. otherwise, theyre like the university of chicago(which in its early years was baptist), they both became nonsectarian years ago

Good Baptist Schools- That is an oxymoron.

Samford? Not sure if it's Baptist (I think it is) but it's really good.

Samford is indeed baptist.

I've heard good things about Mercer.

How about Cederville University?

Mercer University?

It's not associated with the SBC anymore, but Furman still has a large proportion of Baptists (=fairly conservative), and it's very strong academically. Its grad school placement rates are great, and it has a drop dead gorgeous campus.

im not SBC actually, texas left the convention a decade or so ago. still a subject of controversy. actually, most colleges are leaving the sbc, since the new leadership has tried to take a bigger role in who teaches at the institutions, and thus baylor, samford, mercer, and furman have all disbanded their ties with the sbc

Try doing a search for Baptist colleges and universities. There's a pretty long list.

I know someone who went to Oklahoma Baptist. I've heard he's happy there.

actually gonna go visit there since its 3 hours up the road. looking for good church music programs mainly

Good Baptist or Good School? There's a difference :)

man ud think after a while the largest protestant denom would have a top ten school like the methodists and presbyterians do.

Belmont University in Nashville,TN has a church music program.
