good books for AP European History?

I’m in IB History 1 so our course covers European History up to WWI, the rest we need to self-study. I recently got the Barron’s book for self-studying but I lost it two days ago! I’m getting the Princeton Review one/REA crash course from a friend tomorrow - are these books good for AP Euro? I’m not really pressed about the Renaissance up to WWI because IB is incredibly comprehensive, but since the material past WWI I will be learning all on my own, I’m worried the PR/REA will be a little cursory.

I was up to imperialism in the Barron’s book I had, and in my history class we’re doing Bismarck. I also have A History of the Modern World by R.R. Palmer (which is a supplement to our course), which I was planning on reading for areas that I’m weak on.

So will I be ok with PR/REA? I’d like to get at least a 4 on this exam. I think these are last year’s books (my friend is a senior), but I don’t think getting older editions is too much of a big deal w history courses, esp euro.

I heard REA was fantastic, especially if you’re cramming. I bought AP Achiever in the beginning of the year. It’s very comprehensive but kind of lengthy and almost like a second textbook. I think with PR and REA you’ll be fine. I’d say you should read through PR and then review with REA. Good luck :)

thanks so much!

My friend, the CC book and Princeton Review are the two best APEH prep books. Or, at least IMO they are. If you read through them properly and can write decent essays, you should score a 5. Notice how I said properly, you need to know the info. It’s a bit worrying you haven’t done post ww1 stuff, but the exam is in a month, although I’ve already been reviewing for 2 weeks.
