please post and let me know what books are the best at getting a good score on the administered test.

Didn’t the June ACT already pass?

For studying, I’ve used a combination of Princeton Review: Cracking the ACT, Barrons ACT, and The Real ACT. In terms of content. . . PR is a fun read, and there are a lot of helpful tips. Barrons ACT is notoriously harder than the actual ACT, but I think it’s good prep. The Real ACT is official, so you know it’s legit.

*i meant the september act. haha my bad.

and thanks. i’ve finished the princeton review one for the entire act - but which is the best for science and reading?

the princeton review didnt help me in those two areas.

ill get the barron’s book as well as the real act this week sometime.

and thanks :)

also - how have these books affected your score?

haha, it’s cool. And no prob.

I know Barron’s has an “Aiming for a 36 book” with specialized review. Barron’s also make workbooks specifically for the subjects. I hear they’re good, but I’ve never used them. In terms of my scores, I think a combination of reading all three of the books and A LOT of practice helped me. For the February test, I didn’t study, and I got a 27. When I read those three books and took a sh-tload of practice tests, I raised my score to a 33. Hopefully it’s even higher. Ultimately, I think it comes down to knowing the material, and knowing how to finish the test in time. This means practice tests are VERY important as a supplement to studying from a book.

Thanks so muchhh
Ill be ordering all these books to help enhance my score.
I really appreciate it.

No problemo. If you need any help, let me know. Good luck!

my other question -
is the mcgraw hill’s book any good?

I’ve never used it. I heard it’s decent, but it has a lot of errors.

well i dont know if it’s truly accurate.
i took 3 tests before i could get this score, but i was finally able to get a 31 and i was really happy. i struggle A LOT with science and a bit with reading, so when i got like a 30-31 in both those sections, i was more or less confused.
a week later or so, i took a Princeton Review tests and did a lot worse.
?

Yeah, when I say “errors” I’m referring to score discrepancies, too. I think PR is a good indicator of progress.

Alright.
How do you truly calculate your ACT score?
Mcgraw has this calculation process while Princeton Review has a range indicator of a score. Which ones do the official ACT go by?
