Good books on economic theory?

Do any of you guys that are well read on the subject of economics(macro or micro) have any recommendations on eco theory books? My highschool only offers macro and i've taken it. I really enjoyed the class and although im majoring in engineering. economics is just so damn interesting.

Any recs?

Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations is classic, considering he is the father of capitalism.

More fun/entertaining economics books include Freakonomics (Steven Levitt) and Naked Economics (Charles Wheelan).

Have fun! I love economics too. :D

My school only offers micro and even the teacher admits Wealth of Nations is a mo’fo…
Our class definitely prefers Tim Harford. :)

Economics in Perspective and The Affluent Society by Galbraith are both great.
Wealth of Nations is good but hard to read.
Freakonomics- must read for someone interested in Econ.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Freakonomics.

You could read books on economic theory ,but none of them work because the economic theories themselves are the cause of this reccession .

The Millionaire Next Door

Anything by Mises, Rothbard, or Friedman.

Peter Sciff’s book crashproof and his other one is good if your into it…

Wealth of Nations is a PITA to read… way to many references to 17th century things… just not worth it imo for the little info it gives…

freakonomics is good also…

problem with economics is if your not into the quantitative side of it it seems to me the qualitative side gets old QUICK
