I want to learn about investing and personal finance. Starting with The Intelligent Investor. Where should I go from there?

lol one of my favorite's: Liar's Poker by Michael Lewis. This book is pretty much amazing and then I also like Monkey Business by John Rolfe and Peter Troob.

thanks..anyone else?

The Intelligent Investor is a great starting point.

I'd also go with You Can Be A Stock Market Genius, the title sounds really lame but the book is golden. It was written by Joel Greenblatt who ran a hedge fund that was achieving huge returns, it centers around special situations investing which are really good value opportunities. Warren Buffett actually made 50% returns in his early years because he was doing special situation plays.

honestly where you go from there depends on what kind of trading you want to do. For me, I also picked up that book Stock Market Wizards and I really liked it, you get to see strategies from different stock traders. One guy for instance invests in microcaps because you can speak to their CEOs, another one uses a complex system of financing acquisitions for companies, so I think it's a good book in that you get to see a lot of different styles.

Now I'm going to pick up a book on Distressed Debt Speculation because that's something I want to learn about.

Reminsces of A Stock Operator is a great book because it's based on Jesse Livemore and you get to observe the ups and downs of a trader.

thanks..i'll look into those as well

Fooled By Randomness - Nassim Taleb

Motely Fool investing guide. priceless

I got another one that I liked because it was a really good read and that was Ugly Americans by Ben Mezrich. It is pretty much awesome. Less about the actual business, but more about the culture and minds of arbitrary traders.

I'm actually looking through that right now, tennisfan. it's good stuff
