The Demon's Lexicon is kind of like a mystery! I was going to say that but I wasn't sure whether you liked mysteries. Sarah Rees Brennan is a first time author and all, so for a taste of her writing style go see her livejournal. It's called "sarahtales." She also used to write HP fanfiction; she took it down but I have a pdf.

Since I have an ARC, and I loved it, I feel it is my duty to promote it unflaggingly :D

Haruki Murakami. fr srs. He's an amazing novelist - expresses really insightful and deep thoughts while keeping things interesting, sexy, and fairly understandable. :D

Fight Club if you're into learning about the **** of the world. =P It's amazing, though. Palahnuik's writing style made me orgasm.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is actually (despite being a children's book) quite good, too. And interesting.

I'm reading Angela's Ashes right now - it won a Pulitzer Prize, and imo for good reason. Definitely worth looking into. :D

And Twilight series if you want a laugh.
