for business/finance major as a junior with 60 credits/prereqs etc
I'm a freshman right now but say with a ~3.6 GPA by the end of junior year (I know it can't be predicted but just go with it to help which schools to xfer to)
I was looking on the UCLA site and they dont have a college of business? I read on this forum that someone xferred to UCLA from SJSU with the biz econ major.

Any other schools for finance/business oriented? UTAustin, Berkeley, Davis? And I know it will be hard to xfer from a CSU to UC :(

UCLA's business school, Anderson SOM, is focused on MBA and PhD programs for the most part. I believe they do grant an accounting degree to undergraduates, but that's about it. However, they do offer a Labor and Workplace Studies minor, which if coupled with an economics major, could do the trick.

As for business schools, UCB's Haas is the place place to be among California publics, though that would be a major reach for most applicants, including those with a 3.6 or so. That would be the high reach school on the list if added.

Among the UCs, I know Irvine also offers both a BA in Business Administration and a BS in Business Information Management, as well as minors in Accounting and Management. UC Riverside also has a BA program.

Other than that, if the money is not a major issue, USC Marshall might be worth looking at, along with Pepperdine. Of course, you don't necessarily need a business degree to enter the business world. In some cases, it is even considered better that you degree be in something else, such as computer science or statistics. That way, you can apply outside skills to the business environment. Remember, you can always go back and get an MBA once you have a few years of work experience.

If finances are not an issue, or you would get need-based aid, consider Santa Clara University. In your backyard, so you probably already know if it - great reputation, particularly in the Silicon Valley world.

Here are the preferred reqs for some schools that were listed here and I am interested in for undergrad xfer
SCU-English, calculus and analytic geometry (2 semesters or 2 quarters),accounting (2 semesters or 3 quarters), microeconomics and macroeconomics
USC-micro and macro econ and calc
Berkeley doesnt say
UCLA-micro/macro econ + 2 years calc
Is Irvine good? UCSD?

So this means I will have to take another semester's worth of classes before I apply right (I already have a set schedule for SJSU's own requirements for GE and undergrad business program in case I don't get accepted to any schools)
