Would this school make a good choice for a Computer science school? My chances at heavy hitters like Berkeley, UCLA and Stanford are slim, so I was drawn to UCSC. It's proximinty to Silicon valley seems nice too. also, how is job placement for cs?

I posted a little bit about this before: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-santa-cruz/1135824-cs-jobs-ucsc.html

I think the program is more diverse than most. You have the opportunity to learn more programming languages than the average student. Java, C, C++, C#, and Python to name the most common in class. They’re adding new classes for mobile app development and another for developing for the Kinect, so there are a lot of real world skills to learn that will pay off when looking for jobs.
