good classes that would be "outside the realm of science"

I'm going to be a junior biochem major at UMass Amherst. I have a lot of interests that i want to pursue but couldnt in the past because of my major and the need to finish up pre-med reqs so i take the MCAT this summer (YIKES). Finally as a Junior, I will have a few spots open for classes like economics/ management/ comparative literature. I wanted to do sports management when I graduated high school, but UMass biochem. dept. won me over.. I guess im starting to get a little tired of pure science, although econ isnt a great deviation from math/science. do you guys have any classes (if you name a class i will be able to find something similar at UMass or the neighboring 4 colleges) that you really enjoyed in college?

Also, as I am trying to diversify my courses, I'm trying to keep in mind that med schools love to see variation. I've always felt a little trapped by the reqs. for my major so recommend me some enlightening classes! I unfortunately got a 5 for AP Psych so I cant really take basic psychology classes anymore, and besides, psychology is kind of a science that im trying to get away from..

give me any class and i will find it at UMass!

thanks for all the great info on these boards!

I’m a big fan of the social sciences. You mentioned economics, but anthropology is a personal favorite.

Psych (behavioral, abnormal, neuro)and anthro (physical, medical, cultural, language, biological) classes are my personal favorite.

While you’re not likely to apply to UWashington Med, they recommend an ethics class.
