Alright, I'm not gonna provide too much information but would love some feedback.

By the end of senior year, I will have taken 8 AP's:
AP World (5)
AP US (5)
AP Euro
AP Calc BC
AP Spanish
AP English 12
AP Statistics (4)
AP Biology (5)

I received an SAT score of 2360. I essentially have a 4.0 GPA, more like 3.95 probably.
A few clubs, however no real leadership position.

In terms of community service, I don't have much. However, I will most likely be doing some sort of research this summer and will be helping at a senior center.

Assuming fairly well written recommendations (I don't get to see them) and well-written essays, would this be a good college list?

UMich
NYU
BC
Vandy
Duke
UChicago
Penn
Dartmouth
Harvard
Yale
Stanford

If you have limited EC’s and no leadership displayed, all of these schools would be reaches if not out of reach. Most of the schools are reaches for everyone.

I do have leadership displayed, it’s just not in my school extracurriculars. However, I have been dedicated to same 3-5 clubs throughout my entire high school career.

Isn’t that better than being in plenty of clubs?

I work approximately 20-25 hours a week to help my family get by. I will definitely note this on my application and I actually wrote about an experience I had as a kid (at this workplace) and how it helped me grow as a person.

The list is good, but I do hope you have a safety or two that you would be willing to go to just in case you wouldn’t get in. From Duke downward, everything is a reach of course, as it is for everyone. The ones on top I think you are either safe or a match. Beware though, because as your stats are hyper-competitive, some of these schools may wait-list you if they feel you aren’t going to go there anyways. Crazier things have happened. Make sure your essays are excellent. Write them like a story. Make sure your SAT IIs are on par, and you’re good to go, if your ECs are what you say they are!

I can not predict what admissions offices do, sometimes you wonder if they reach into a barrel of names of qualified students and choose that way!?!
have you thought about some smaller schools like Dickinson, Gettysburg, or Lafayette?

I suggest you apply to UMichigan early so hopefully you will hear back by December. If you get in then, there is no need to add to your list – if not then you should put in a real safety or two (maybe UWisconsin &/or Tulane - Tulane has non-binding EA).

No one can really guess your chances. Your stats make you a possible admit to most of these schools, but I think essays are what make or break you.

Thank you astults13. I am going to try to write stellar essays.

I know that no one can really predict where I will be admitted, but is this list of colleges pretty “safe” in the sense that I will most likely get into at least one of these schools?

Your list is top-heavy and not very discriminating (it looks like you just marched down the top of the USNWR rankings). It might be realistic if you are a Michigan resident and costs are not an issue (that is, your family can cover your Expected Family Contribution without borrowing more than about $7500/year). If you are not a Michigan resident or if there is any doubt about meeting your EFC, then it would appear you do not have a true safety and are thin in the middle (with a risk of being shut out of admission to your reaches and shut out of adequate aid at your matches). Except for Michigan (and including Michigan if you’re OOS), they are all very expensive schools.

If that’s your final list, be sure to take advantage of Chicago’s EA option.

In terms of financial aid, if I need it, wouldn’t a majority of those schools be able to meet it? I mean they are pretty elite schools with large endowments.
