Any thoughts on these rankings? Surprises/no-brainers? Do you think these rankings would include other schools 10 years later now?

Just some observations that I found interesting...
--No HYP (although Stanford and MIT are on the list)! The ONLY Ivy's on this list are Penn and Cornell...interesting...
--There's tons of CTCL schools on this list as well as women's colleges, which I find really interesting! Perhaps these places are more inclusive in general, so that's probably why Asian Americans may feel comfortable attending those places over Ivy League schools??
--Lots of schools that I wouldn't normally associate with Asian American students - many of these schools on this list are not "prestigious" schools...hmm...

For those who attend schools on this list, do you think that it's true that your school is open to Asian Americans - do you have Asian Am Studies programs, active AsianAm political groups or clubs that reach out to not only the AsianAm population, but to the general student body as well?

Anyone who wants to comment on this feel free to! :D And if there is an updated version, please let me know too! >.<

I attend UC San Diego and the Asian population is 48%. It makes sense that the UCs are up there since California has a large Asian population. I know there are definitely groups and clubs for Asians here but I don’t have any experience with any of them (I’m white). Needless to say, if you wanted to go to a more prestigious university than what is on this list, it’s not like you wouldn’t be welcome or you would be looked down upon (I seriously hope). Sometimes people surprise me with their stupid prejudices and stereotyping, but I know I treat and welcome all people the same. Nobody gets to choose the way they are born but sadly some people fail to understand that.

This is purely anecdotal. Rice, ND and Vanderbilt are not coducive environments for Asians. Stanford is a better host than Berkeley for Asians.

Caltech, MIT and Harvey Mudd are friendly and accommodating to Asians.

would make sense, south and Midwestern universities

would make sense, south and Midwestern universities

California schools (Berk, UCLA, USC, etc.) and the various Boston/Cambridge (Harvard, MIT, BU, NU, BC, etc.) schools are probably the best.
