What are some good schools for buisness (maybe financing??) and hotel management?
I already know of Cornell and BU, but what are some others? Thanks

Univeristy of Wisconsin-Stout

[B.S. Degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management - UW Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University](<a href=“Do More on Day One.”>Do More on Day One.)

Northern Arizona University.

I’ll bet you hadn’t tripped to that one.

UNLV is tops for hotel management, but I don’t know about other business areas.

I believe that U of Central Florida offers an undergrad degree in Hospitality (or hospitality management).

Michigan State for hospitality management

I wouldn’t say UNLV is tops for hotel management…

Good HTM programs are Purdue, Michigan State, Penn State, Cornell, BU, VT, FSU, Cal Poly, UNLV, JWU, UCF, and Oklahoma State.

The last ranking of HTM programs was dated in 2001 I believe. Cornell opts out of these rankings so yeah… So yeah if your looking for a HTM degree along with a Business degree then look at Purdue, Penn State, Michigan State, Cornell, and BU.

If you could afford it, I would recommend you looking at Hotel Management schools in Switzerland. Glion, Ritz, SHMS, and Les Roches. The curriculum in Switzerland for HTM differs from that in the US. Even though a Business degree is not offered at these universities, your resume would look outstanding with a degree from one of these schools. I say this because I know a few people who received a high salary after graduation at 4/5 star hotels.

Also, when you look at HTM programs DON’T look at the name of the university.

Instead, look at the job placement %, average salary after graduation, internship %, and the number of recruiters at the school. This is how they rank the HTM programs usually because there really is no other way of ranking a program other than this…

Some schools are research institutions while others are career institutions. Purdue, is a research institution so professors care more about their research to be honest. Johnson & Wale, is a career institution and they prepare you for the industry right from the start. UNLV, is a career institution as well and why they are always considered #1 is because of their location in Las Vegas. To be honest though, Las Vegas isn’t that glamorous if your looking for a high paying salary after graduation.

I was in the HTM program at Purdue and JWU for a year so if you have any questions just PM me.

thanks for the help! where would i go to find the job placement%, average salary, etc etc statistics? :D

Bryant for both
