Good colleges for Undergraduate Math... other questions too

I want to take Math major... what a pity usnews doesn't have a ranking of math major colleges... can you help me? Please give a full list.

I want to take Math in a college that is good in Sciences too. Somehow I don't feel the Ivies are that cool for that.

Do California universities show preference for their residents?

How much leeway do top colleges show for a slight dip in performance at the end of your senior year?

The Ivies are all excellent in Math and the Sciences. They aren't known for Engineering, but that's not what you asked for.

I'd say that there are several excellent undergraduate math programs:

Brown University
California Institute of Technology
Columbia University
Cornell University
Dartmouth College
Duke University
Harvard University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
New York University
Northwestern University
Princeton University
Rice University
Stanford University
University of California-Berkeley
University of California-Los Angeles
University of Chicago
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Pennsylvania
University of Wisconsin-Madison

Thanks Alexandre.

No problem. I am also sure that many LACs, like Carleton, Harvey Mudd, Pomona, Swarthmore and Williams have excellent Math departments.

University of Chicago has an excellent Math Dept. My S graduated from there in 2001 with a BS in Math and Statistics. You always hear about the Econ Dept at UChicago but I'm telling you that the Math Dept. is a little gem there. Check out the Common Data Set of various schools to compare how many graduate with a Math degree. When my S graduated, he was among 76 students with a math major out of a 1000. Believe me, that's alot when you compare.

I know the Administrator of the Ugrad Math majors. She teaches Honors Calc and is very supportive of ugrad students.
