good colleges with education major?

I’m currently at a small liberal arts school in the Northwest and am not too happy here. I want to major in education but don’t really know where to start looking. I’m also really overwhelmed by the idea of transferring but I know I don’t want to be here.
What are some strong schools with education majors? They don’t have to be LAC, I’m open to bigger colleges and universities. My grades are pretty strong (B+ average).
Any help is appreciated!!!

Do you want to teach? Look up your state’s requirements - in my state (NY) the standard is to major in your subject area (ex. English) then get a masters in education.

Or, for some earlier experience in the field, major in your subject area and minor in education studies. Either way, the common standard in at least some states appears to require a master’s in education. A positive aspect of this is that you do not need to restrict your search to those colleges that have full undergraduate education majors.

Your state U probably has a reputable education major - many of them do. Start there. If you are looking at elementary education, you can probably find a position without a graduate degree.

as said earlier, you need to look into the requirements in the state(s) you may want to teach. Out here in CA, for example, the requirements are different if you want to teach in grades K-8 or in HS.
