<p>I need to have some repairs made to a desktop computer, and I'm weary of the big stores like Best Buy. Has anyone here had experience with locally-owned, independent shops -- preferably near campus?</p>
<p>I believe there is a free tech service on campus that will help you with your computer. If they can not help you I would seriously consider the bookstore. They have a computer repair service (I believe a Geek Squad). That would be on campus, you may be able to put it on your access card, and you could probably get a guarantee if the work doesn't do the trick.</p>
<p>Check out the computer section of the Pertusati Bookstore. They're very friendly down there in the basement.</p>
<p>Geek squad however is owned by Best Buy, so if you're worried about that then the bookstore may not be the place for you.</p>
