Good CS schools?

I want to major in computer science for college. I don’t really know where I want to go. I kind of want to stay on the East Coast because I live in New York and my parents don’t want me to leave. I also don’t want the school to be too expensive . Anyone have any suggestions

Can you share your stats with us?

GPA, SAT/ACT, extracurriculars, etc?

Well I don’t know my actual GPA, but I have a 91-92 average. I only took the SAT once and got a low score so I’m retaking it in August and possibly taking the ACT in September. I volunteered at the New York Aquarium for 2 years. In school, I’m apart was in Step Team and Key Club for 1 year, Dissection Club since sophomore year, Science Olympiad since sophomore year, I’m the co president of a club called Lab Squad since sophomore where we basically set up, perform labs, and take some pressure off of the science teachers in my school. I’m also going to be a senior in September.

Awesome, that helps a lot-

Try SUNY Binghamton, Rochester Institute of Technology, Pace University. U. Connecticut, Hofstra.

These are conservative choices in regards to statistics and admission rates, because you won’t know how much your ACT score will increase.

Your EC’s will boost your chances as well!

Some of the SUNY schools have good CS and should not be too expensive for NY residents.

Thanks a lot!

Tuition is supposedly now free if your family income is under 125K at SUNY and CUNY colleges. I would apply immediately before all of the spots are taken; don’t wait until the deadline as soon as you find out where you were admitted.
