As far as good extracurriculars go, finding leadership positions in clubs would be best. If you’re looking for business clubs, here are some that I listed in another thread:

As far as frats go:

For business frats the major ones I know of are Pi Chi Theta, Delta Sigma Pi, and Alpha Kappa Psi. From talking to people within the frats, the greatest part about them is that you will have a great network. They will be great for preparing for interviewing, helping with business school courses and applications, etc. They are also sponsored by large financial companies which can hold networking events for specific business frats (for example, I know Pi Chi Theta is sponsored by Morgan Stanley, PWC, and some others).

However, the acceptance rates of these frats is extremely low (less than 15%, probably even less than 10%). Though I don’t have numbers, I would expect that freshman in those frats have a higher placement into the business school. But take this with a grain of salt as they are also very selective.

If you can get in, then great. However, it’s not going to take the place of a 3.5/3.6+ GPA and some other ECs. So IF you think you can keep up the GPA (and pledging will take a chunk of time), then it can only help you.

My last paragraph applies to social frats too with the excption that it won’t help you as much as a business frat will unless you get leadership positions within it (again, it won’t hurt your app and can only help if you can get a 3.5/3.6+).

Clubs that you like and show actual involvement in. Business fraternities can definitely help, but as the person above me has said, they do take a good chunk of time with pledging.

Go to FestiFall and spend hours there checking everything out. Try whatever you’re genuinely interested in; one of the essays asks which EC reflects you most and why. Take leadership roles (even if they’re not specific titles, take on particular tasks/responsibilities).
