Good Engineering Schools?

I'm looking for an engineering school that offers a good program, preferably a well-known school. It has to be affordable (tuition itself no more than 30k)
this is my stats.

To me, I am big on improvement. I want to say this without being cocky but I've done a good job at least for my standards, and my parents.

I really didn't start thinking about colleges and my future until mid-sophomore and started thinking about how much I screwed up. (To be honest, I didn't even know what colleges were for until the end of 9th grade)

So these are my activities and scores.

Marching Band - 4 yrs
Debate - 1 yr
Youth Group leader - 4 yrs
Church missionaries to St. Louis - 3 yrs
NHS - got accepted senior year

To be honest, i didn't do much activities and I COMPLETELY regret it.... I wish I would've done a sport in the winter/spring cause I love physical activity.

ACT Score - 1st time 27, second time 31
Writing - first time 8, second time 10
TOEFL - 108 (dont think i'll have to report in any case)
I'm going to take the math 2 subject test in nov.8. I got 680 last time and am aiming for 800.
GPA - I'm not too sure but since i got invited to NHS. i have above a 3.850 GPA on a 4 point scale.

I took 1 honors in fresh
2 honors in sophomore
1 ap and 3 honors in junior
4 ap and 2 honors as a senior

These are the schools i've been thinking of apply to but i think some of them are out of reach .

University of Illionois - Chamapign
Purdue University
U of M
University of Texas
Virginia Tech
Pitt
Penn State

as you can see, these are big and expensive schools.

For the price you are looking at try the SUNY schools, U South Dakota. There is a pinned thread in the Financial Aid forum for colleges <$25K.

If you mean the CoA (including tuition, boarding , and other expenses) to be below $30k, then none of those oos universities on your list would be qualified. If you mean $30k or less for the tuition alone, then you may consider UMinn at Twin Cities. Your score is not really competitive enough for most of the OOS engineering schools on your list.

Cross these off your list; admission is unlikely for an OSS unless your grades are stellar…

Illinois
Virginia Tech
Texas-Austin
Penn State

Are you in the Midwest? You should add some privates:
Case Western Reserve University
U of Dayton
Rose Hulman Institute
Illinois Institute of Technology
