Good enough extracurriculars ?

Hello!

I’m currently a sophomore in high school, looking to get into an undergrad dietics major at schools like penn state, ut Austin, nyou, university of Miami, and the university of Pittsburgh

– founder of charity (I recently started this, we send sports equipment to refugees/poor areas )
– Pianist (volunteers by playing piano at veterans shelter)
– Publicity Head of literary Magazine
– JSA
– School’s mentorship program (selective)
– tutor
– C.I.T. at summer camp ( will be a counselor next year )
Don’t know if this would count, but I’m taking a coding class in order to prepare for the AP CSP exam since the course is not offered st my school

Good for you that you’re already thinking about college. However, make sure your focus isn’t so much to the future that you don’t enjoy the present. High school is a great time to learn, enjoy friends, etc. It’s not just a launching pad to college.

Regarding ECs, do what you enjoy doing. Colleges actually are more impressed with depth and passion than being spread thin. A few ECs that really interest you will give you greater opportunity to have impact vs. just being a member of a club. I see “leadership” as a common theme throughout your activities. That’s great. Keep up the good work (and have fun in high school)!
